Levi Yost

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Buried Bear Creek Cemetery, Randolph County Indiana

Private Yost is mentioned in one source as being wounded on May 12th, 1864 in the fighting in Virginia. It also mentions he was transferred to the 20th Indiana. The reorganized companies of the 20th Indiana has no mention of Levi.

Levi was admitted to the hospital soon after the regiment arrived in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1861. He was reported to have contracted typhoid fever but was returned to duty on December 14th.

He never filed for a pension but his mother Sara Yost did in April of 1885.
