Christian S. Vanhorn

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

 

Soon after the 19th Indiana arrived in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1861 Private Vanhorn was admitted to the hospital with a bad case of hemorrhoids. He would later be discharged from the service for disability.

 

He never filed for a pension but in May of 1879 his widow Janette filed for a "widows" pension. 

 

Christian's date of death and burial location are unknown.
