James W. Grow

Private Grow received a gunshot wound to the right leg a the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862. He was discharged from the service for disability on March 25th, 1864 while in Indianapolis Indiana.

 

After the war James was in and out of four different Soldiers Homes from 1873 until his death at the Dayton Ohio Soldiers Home. In addition to the Dayton Home he was in the Milwaukee Wisconsin, Danville Illinois and Marion Indiana Soldiers Homes at one time or another.

 

He started to receive a pension in 1864.
