George Washington Greene
Mustered into service as a 1st. Lieutenant on July 29th, 1861

Died 30 January 1887
Buried Beech Grove Cemetery, Delaware County Indiana
1st. Lieutenant Greene was promoted to Captain of the Company in the early summer of 1863. He was captured at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863. He spent the rest of the war in rebel prison camps until he was paroled in the spring of 1865.
He arrived back home to Muncie Indiana the night President Lincoln was assassinated.
He filed for a pension in April of 1884.
