Edward Craven

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Private Craven was reported as missing in action after the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862. He was supposedly discharged for wounds in December of that year.

Edward Craven was born in Ohio and lived in Morrow County in 1850 with his family. In September of 1868 Edward's mother Mary filed for a mothers pension but for some reason it was not granted.

In the Shauck Cemetery located in Morrow County Ohio there is buried a Edward Craven who died on January 5th, 1863 age 24 years, 8 months, 8 days. This is the same age as the soldier who was in the 19th Indiana. Also buried in this cemetery is a Mary Craven who died March 9th, 1873 age 78 years, 11 months, 9 days.

It is very possible that this is the Edward Craven that served in the 19th Indiana and is probably buried in a unmarked grave.
