Austin F. Conyers

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Died 01 March 1920

Buried Oak Grove Cemetery, Guthrie County Iowa

 

 

Soon after arriving in Washington D.C with the regiment Private Conyers was admitted to the hospital with a case of remittent fever. He would be discharged from the service because of disability on May 23rd, 1862.

 

On October 5th, 1864 he enlisted as a substitute in Company H of the 9th Indiana Infantry.  He would serve there until his muster out on September 28th, 1865. 

 

He filed for a pension in 1890.
