Cornelius Collins

Mustered into service as a Corporal on July 29th, 1861

Corporal Collins was admitted to the hospital soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the late summer of 1861. He was diagnosed with scrotal hernia and would be discharged for disability soon after.

 

On August 15th, 1862 he mustered into Company C of the 79th Indiana Infantry where he served until his discharge on November 19th, 1863.

 

He filed for a pension in May of 1879.
