Private Bunnin was wounded in the right hand at the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862. He was discharged from the service while in a Philadelphia hospital in December of that same year.
He died from pneumonia at the Soldiers Home in Dayton Ohio.
Michael filed for and started to receive a pension in 1863.
