Records show that Private Beck left the 19th Indiana one day after being mustered in. He would join Company E of the 75th Indiana Infantry on August 1st, 1862 as a Private. Due to disabilities he was transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps.
He filed for and started to receive a pension in1869.
