Private Andrews was severely wounded at the Battle of Petersburg Virginia on June 18th, 1864. He was transferred to Company C of the 20th Indiana Infantry in the fall of 1864. He was discharged for disability on May 24th, 1865 holding the rank of Corporal.
He filed for a pension in June of 1865.
